Welcome to Playing Through’s morning ritual — Golf Talk Today.

Each morning will feature a Golf Talk Today, where the crew will discuss various elements throughout the PGA Tour, LPGA, LIV Golf, and more.

Let’s have a little fun today! Last week, a photo of this guy who got Paige Spiranac’s signature tattooed on his arm went viral. It inspired us to search the internet to see what kind of golf tattoos people get.

Some people love sports so much that they want a permanent reminder on their skin. They love it so much that they will get logos, players and other moments inked on them. I even have a University of Georgia ‘G’ on my ankle, so I understand people’s love for their teams.

Let’s look at how dedicated these fans are to golf with their tattoos.

Golf Tattoos

The tattoo that sparked this post was that a fan got Spiranac to sign his arm and made that signature permanent.

“Met Tony at an @xgolfamerica event where he asked me to sign his arm. An hour later he comes back with it tattooed on him,” Spiranac wrote.

This tweet has over a million views — it went nuts.

This post sparked us to ask our readers to send in some submissions. I also took a deep dive down the Twitter (now known as X) rabbit hole to find golf-themed tattoos, and this is what I saw.

A Tiger Woods logo — maybe the guy will get the new Sun Day Red logo now that the “TW” is no longer the one Tiger uses.

Another Tiger Woods inspired piece went viral last year. It is a collage of a Tiger with face tattoos, a chain, and a mouth grill. It also includes the iconic club twirl from the 2009 Presidents Cup. This is a work of art, even if it is a little scary.

Tiger won the 2019 Masters; of course, someone recreated it on their calf.

A Phil Mickelson tattoo? It seems Nolan got Mickelson’s logo on the back of his calf after he won the 2021 PGA Championship. Impressive.

This fan got the Callaway logo on his chest, and the brand noticed. It seems Callaway also hooked him up with a full bag of clubs.

These are just a few of the tattoos we found.

Would you ever get a golf-themed tattoo? If so, what kind of ink would you get? Let us know in the comments below!

Paige Spiranac drops eye-popping handicap; quiets trolls with receipts paige,spiranac,drops,eye,popping,handicap,quiets,trolls,with,receipts,sbnation,com,front-page,golf,golf-news

Paige Spiranac has more followers than Tiger Woods across social media platforms.

Many love her because she is beautiful and funny. She also loves to clap back at the haters. However, besides these attributes, the influencer is an excellent golfer.

Earlier this year, Spiranac shared that her love for golf had returned. She has played numerous times since then, so on Jun. 26, she posted her handicap on X, formerly known as Twitter, after so many lost it over a swing video.

Spiranc currently holds a +3.4 handicap, according to the USGA Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) app.

Of course, her tweet went viral. Many people questioned her number and about handicaps in general.

So, she tweeted her post to set the record straight on handicaps.

“1. A + handicap is better than scratch,” she wrote.

“2. A +3 handicap is good, but nowhere close to competing against the best in the world. I don’t think people realize how good they are, how hard the courses are set up, and all while doing it under extreme pressure. It’s a different game they play.”

She then explained how to calculate a golf handicap, which can confuse many players, and whether pro golfers have one.

“3. You calculate your golf handicap by taking the average score of the best eight of your last 20 scores,” Spiranac wrote.

“Meaning you can still have some pretty shitty rounds and still be a low handicap. Pros don’t keep a handicap, but someone calculated Tiger at a +9 once, which is insane.”

Of course, her explanation tweet brought in the trolls.

One user said she would not break 90 at his home track, but he did not give that course or any other context. Spiranac usually avoids trolls, but she owned this one.

“I shot in the 70s at Pine Valley, which is known as one of the hardest tracks,” she responded. “I haven’t shot in the 90s since I was 13.”

Talk about mic drop, but that troll did not stop there. He wanted to see her scorecard from Pine Valley.

So, Spiranac uploaded the receipts to the Internet and displayed her scores from some of the country’s most challenging courses.

A 74 at Pine Valley is incredible. A 75 at Oakmont, the site of next year’s U.S. Open, is also astonishing.

The 31-year-old could have just dropped the Pine Valley score, but she put the nail in the coffin when she included Oakmont, Valhalla, and Crooked Stick.

Spiranac owned this troll and reminded the masses that despite her appearance, she is still a fantastic golfer.

Christo Lamprecht, the 6-foot-8 South African who held the first-round lead at the Open Championship last year as an amateur, has signed a deal with WME Sports for representation after turning professional.

He joins social media star Paige Spiranac, who joined WME Sports in May. The agency is a subsidiary of Endeavor Group Holdings, representing high-profile talent, athletes, and media while owning stakes in WWE and UFC.

Ari Emmanuel serves as the CEO of Endeavor Group Holdings, which expressed interest in negotiating a deal with the PGA Tour last fall. However, the tour ultimately went in a different direction, scoring a $1.5 billion investment from the Strategic Sports Group (SSG) as it continues negotiating an agreement with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Nevertheless, WME Sports also represents a pair of three-time major champions, Padraig Harrington and Jordan Spieth, putting Lamprecht in good company among fellow professionals. Min Woo Lee is also a part of WME, as are five of the top 10 players in the LPGA’s Rolex Rankings.

“This is a special moment in my career,” Lamprecht said.

“Having fulfilled a lifelong dream of turning professional, it gives me confidence knowing I have the best team at WME Sports guiding me through this next chapter.”

Lamprecht had a terrific career at Georgia Tech, earning All-American honors three times while winning three individual titles as a Yellow Jacket. He also recorded 24 top-10 career finishes. On top of that, his impressive resume includes the 2024 Byron Nelson Award, which he received this year as the country’s top scholar-athlete.

“Christo is the modern face of golf with his exceptional length and power, coupled with a tremendous short game,” said Jason Horrell, the co-head of WME’s Golf division.

“His talent is surpassed only by the quality of person he is off the course and we couldn’t be more excited to represent and work with him as he launches his professional career.”

In his Korn Ferry Tour debut at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open, Lamprecht missed the cut, shooting an 8-over 78 on day one. But he rebounded with a strong 7-under 63 in round two.

He also missed the cut at The Masters this year, but surely, a bright future for Lamprecht lies ahead. He was the top-ranked amateur player before turning professional.
